October

Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley has yet to settle his debt for losing the WhiteSox versus Tampa Bay Rays wager earlier this month.

Tampa Bay officials said they have received about half of what was promised and have yet to receive any statement from Daley himself.

So far, Chicago has sent: chips from C.J. Vitner Co., Lemonheads candy from Ferrara Pan Candy and a “Pepsi for a year’’ certificate from Pepsi Americas.

Still to come: 100 Polish sausages from Vienna Beef, peanuts, sunflower seeds and trail mix from Fisher Nuts and baseball bats and gloves, balls, softballs, equipment bags and protective equipment for 150 young people from Wilson Sporting Goods.

A Daley spokesman said he wasn't sure when the other items would arrive.

"I guess I should say congratulations," he added.
