On Damon claiming, Manny moving, Longoria going home

UPDATE, 6:19: Here's another - the Red Sox claimed OF Johnny Damon off waivers from Detroit, and as he has 48 hours to decide whether to waive his no-trade clause to accept a deal, there is speculation the Sox made the move to block him from going to the Rays or the Yankees.

DEVELOPING: While waiting for tonight's game, here are links to a couple of interesting Rays-related articles.

First, ESPN's Buster Olney reports that Manny Ramirez is expected to be placed on waivers this week by the Dodgers and "there remains a high probability that unless Ramirez exercises his no-trade clause, he will be with another team by Aug. 31."

Second, here's a look at Evan Longoria from the Los Angeles Times, focusing on the local product's development as a leader keyed to his dugout confrontation with B.J. Upton.
