Damon reportedly to join Indians
Former Rays DH Johnny Damon has - finally - found a home, set to sign with the Indians according to multiple media reports.
Damon will join former Rays 1B Casey Kotchman in Cleveland. The Rays replaced Damon and Kotchman with Luke Scott and Carlos Pena.
Damon is expected to play leftfield for the Indians, splitting time with Shelly Duncan, until Grady Sizemore returns from injury. According to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, Damon's deal would include a full no-trade clause and allow him to opt-out on a specified date after Sizemore, expected to be out 8-12 weeks, returns.
Damon texted CBS Sports' Jon Heyman to say, "Cleveland has always been great to me. And I'm looking forward to reuniting with teammates."
