Day after ...

Thursday night's bizarre double play - the result of Carl Crawford's odd baseunning mistake - remained a primary topic of conversation before Friday's game. In short, third-base coach Tom Foley said he wouldn't do anything differntly, Crawford said he would do things differently after realizing he made a mistake (though he still thought he had a triple), and manager Joe Maddon said he thinks they'll all learn from it.

Crawford took most of the questions and criticism well, but did point out that he found it unfair that ESPN's Jim Rome hammered him on his TV show though he has never said much about him with all the good he has done.

Otherwise, the talk was about Friday's marquee pitching matchup, with Rays ace LHP Scott Kazmir facing Twins two-time Cy Young Award winner LHP Johan Santana. Aware that lefthanders tend to have more success against Santana than righthanders, Maddon out three in his lineup - Ben Zobrist, Carl Crawford and Carlos Pena.

Also, Rocco Baldelli is back in centerfield. Rookie Elijah Dukes broke back on two balls that dropped in front of him Thursday.

The complete lineup:
Baldelli, cf
Zobrist, ss
Crawford, lf
Wigginton, dh
Young, rf
Iwamura, 3b
Pena, 1b
Paul, c
Upton, 2b
