Down 1-0, Yanks realize they have to win tonight

After losing Wednesday's opener, the Yankees go into Game 2 tonight acknowledging they have to win to avoid being down 0-2 and headed to Philadelphia.

"We feel fine,'' OF Johnny Damon said. "We're going to be business as usual and, you know, every game in the postseason is a must-win. And we feel like we must win this one.''

The Yankees made one unexpected lineup change, dropping struggling RF Nick Swisher and replacing him with Jerry Hairston - who has started one game this season in rightfield (and that was when he was with the Reds before being acquired in trade). They also made one expected one, with Jose Molina again behind the plate as A.J. Burnett's personal catcher (as he has been the last two months) and Jorge Posada on the bench.

"He's had a lot of success off of Pedro (a .370 average),'' manager Joe Girardi said. "We also like the way they kind of match up against each other, and that kind of shows up in the numbers. So we thought we'd give Jerry tonight.''

The Phillies made one change as expected, with lefty-swinging Matt Stairs taking over as DH and Raul Ibanez going back to leftfield.

Here are the lineups:
