Ejected Maddon: Strike zone "egregiously bad, one-sided"
UPDATE, 11:20: Maddon had strong words for umpire Hunter Wendelstedt: "It was an egregiously bad strike tonight and I really hope that somebody takes a look at it because it was that bad. obviously under these circumstances - i'm all for the fact that the Red Sox beat us tonight, God bless them they beat us tonight. But our hitters were at a great disadvantage tonight, they really were. And I definitely saw it as being one-sided.''
DEVELOPING: Rays manager Joe Maddon was ejected, and then had an animated on-field argument with home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt.
Maddon was complaining after John Jaso was called out on strikes to end the sixth, one several calls that seemed to go against the Rays.
Maddon went face to face with Wendelstedt, then after crew chief Jerry Layne intervened, started pointing at Wendelstedt and continued.
It was the sixth time Maddon was ejected this season, and 22nd with the Rays.
