As expected, fines only for Crawford, Maddon
MLB made official today what had been expected, that LF Carl Crawford and manager Joe Maddon were fined but not suspended for their Tuesday ejections and heated arguments with umpire Bob Davidson.
The fine amounts are not announced, but typically are - relatively speaking - rather insignificant, in the range of $2,500 or so.
Also kept private is whether there was any disciplinary action, or at least a "talking to," for Davidson, based on what appeared to be aggressive actions on his part. After the Tuesday game, Crawford said, "If anybody should be getting suspended, it should be the umpire.''
