Fans bring luck to the Trop
Baseball is famous for its superstitions and Rays fans aren't any different.
Johnny Long, 17, brought his first baseball mitt to Tropicana Field. The mitt made him a Little League star, he said.
"So maybe it will help the Rays," he said.
Allen Anderson, 58, and Phyllis Pylant, 52, kept the aquamarine seat cushions given out to fans at the Rays' first baseball game in 1998 in their closet for ten years. They broke them out for the first time to use at tonight's game.
"It's just seemed like the right gesture," said Anderson.
Pylant hoped the cushions would bring the team luck.
Not Anderson. "I don't know if they need any luck," he said. "They are going to win tonight."
