Farnsworth contract details

The Rays are paying RHP Kyle Farnsworth $2.6-million in salary this season, with a $650,000 buyout on a 2012 option the difference in what has been reported as a $3.25-million deal.  If the Rays want to bring him back, his salary in 2012 would be $3.3-million.

In both years, Farnsworth can earn up to $300,000 more in incentives based on games finished, so clearly there is some thought he will be pitching at the end of games.

Also, Farnsworth gets a $100,000 bonus if traded, and has a somewhat standard awards package, from $25,000 for making the All-Star team to $100,000 for winning the Cy Young, Rolaids relief or league MVP award.
