The reason Joel Peralta saved today's game was that closer Kyle Farnsworth was unavailable due to tenderness in his elbow.

Farnsworth said he felt better and expected to be available on Sunday.

"I'm day to day, I played catch today and it felt good so I should be out there ready to go tomorrow,'' Farnsworth said.

The Rays hadn't, for strategic purposes, said anything before the game about Farnsworth, who hadn't pitched since Tuesday. 

Peralta, despite a dropped pop-up by catcher Kelly Shoppach, worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his second save.
