Game day report: Rays at Yankees

UPDATE, 12:51: The Rays are all here, and getting to take the field on what looks to be the best weather day of the spring.  One interesting pre-game moment - Yankees legend Yogi Berra asking Evan Longoria to sign a ball for him. Then Berra told Rays manager Joe Maddon that Longoria "reminds him of Joe DiMaggio a bit.'' Longoria was predictably flattered, and said Yogi was the highest baseball royalty who's asked him for an autograph. Outside of baseball, he said the biggest name probably was the name he often hears - TV and movie star Eva Longoria.

DEVELOPING: It's an early-starting morning here at Port Charlotte as the Rays prepare to head up to Tampa for today's exhibition with the Yankees.

The Rays are bringing some, but not all, of their big names, with a lineup that will look like this:
Bartlett, ss
Rodriguez, lf
Longoria, 3b
Zobrist, 2b
Upton, cf
Navarro, c
D. Johnson, dh
Ruggiano, rf
Richard, 1b
Price, p

The Yankees will start some of their front-line players as well.

Jeter, ss
Granderson, cf
Teixeira, 1b
Rodriguez, 3b

Posada, dh
Thames, lf

Cano, 2b
Swisher, rf
Cervelli, c
Hughes, p

On Saturday in Port Charlotte against the Red Sox, the Rays will trot out what could just about be their opening day lineup, save for perhaps rightfield, where Gabe Kapler is starting, and on the mound. The Rays had originally listed Andy Sonnanstine as the starter with Wade Davis is relief, but now Davis is listed as the starter.

Here is the planned lineup:
Bartlett, ss
Crawford, lf
Longoria, 3b
Pena, 1b
Zobrist, 2b
Burrell, dh
Upton, cf
Shoppach, c
Kapler, rf
Davis, p
