Game delayed due to temporary power outage

Update: 4:41 p.m. Play has resumed, ending the 19-minute delay.

Update: 4:38 p.m. According to Progress Energy, the power outage was caused by lightning striking an incoming power line in the 16th street substation.

The A's just took the field again, and are warming up. We should be playing baseball soon.

Update: 4:28 p.m They just made an announcement. The lights should come back on in 15 minutes.

It's definitely a weird situation, as a lot of the lights are on, the scoreboard is working, as well as all the signs. The press box (thankfully) is lit too. So they're just waiting to get the rest of them on.

The lights just flickered off here in Tropicana Field during the bottom of the first inning, so both teams have left the field and are hanging in the dugout during this temporary delay.

Both managers are conferring with the umpires now. We'll give you more updates when we receive them.
