Gameday live: Rays vs. Red Sox
4:10: Rays win 6-4 as Justin Ruggiano homers after Fernando Perez tripled to start the ninth.
4:02: Still tied 4-4 going to bottom of the ninth.
3:20: The Red Sox just tied it 4-4 with a single by Brett Harper off Joe Bateman in the seventh.
2:39: Kelly Shoppach puts the Rays up 4-3 with a two-run blast to left following Upton's single up the middle.
2:35: Rays get a long homer by Ben Zobrist off Adam Mills to open the home fourth, the first of the spring by a Ray other than Sean Rodriguez.
2:32: Wade Davis didn't do much to help his cause either, failing to finish his second inning and also walking three. Sox lead 3-1 going to bottom of fourth.
2:22: The Rays got one run back on a well-executed sequence in the third after Gape Kapler reached on a fielder's choice after Kelly Shoppach reached on an error. Jason Bartlett singled to right and Kapler went first to third, then scored on Carl Crawford's single.
1:53: Davis comes in to work the third with the Rays trailing 2-0.
1:39: Sonnanstine is done after that one inning, with Randy Choate now in. Assuming Wade Davis will work the third.
1:30: Sonnanstine threw 29 pitches in that inning.
1:25: Sonnanstine ended up allowing only two runs, but only because Boston's sixth hitter, Lars Anderson, hit a bullet right at 2B Ben Zobrist, who snagged it and doubled Josh Reddick off first. Sonnanstine went to three balls on five of the six batters he faced.
1:21: Sonnanstine allowed an RBI single, and went to a three-ball count on the fifth hitter (Josh Reddick) before getting a ground ball for his first out, though another run scored.
1:16: So much for Andy Sonnanstine's fresh start - he's walked the first three Red Sox.
1:02: The Rays and Red Sox are about to get started here with a very large crowd and lots of sunshine.
Here are the lineups:
