Niemann left with two on and two out in the sixth, with Mike Ekstrom getting a chance to get out of the mess.

UPDATE, 8:03: While Rays have gone nine up and nine down, Yankees expanded lead to 2-0 on a well-struck homer by Juan Miranda.

UPDATE, 7:35:
Quick second inning on both sides, as Jeff Niemann took over for the Rays and Sergio Mitre has retired the first six Tampa Bay hitters.
