Gameday report: Rays vs Blue Jays
Update 10:46 a.m: The Rays players have been in a union meeting for an hour and a half. But the Jays have arrived, and here's their lineup:
Update 8:03 a.m. Non-roster INF J.J. Furmaniak had a walking boot on his left foot, saying he ruptured a ligament in Tuesday's game against the Phillies while running to first base.
Furmaniak, 30, said he thought it was a bone bruise initially, but his foot snapped back when he hit the bag. He's expected to be out 4-6 weeks.
"It's kind of disappointing because, at my age you never want to have any type of injury to backtrack you," he said.
Developing: The Rays return home to host the Blue Jays at Charlotte Sports Park, with several regulars in the lineup.
INF Sean Rodriguez, who was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to being sick, said he's feeling better. He'll start at third base today, with Evan Longoria as DH. Rodriguez said he's played third base at Triple-A Durham last season.
Manager Joe Maddon is expected to announce the Rays decision on the fifth starter, between RHPs Wade Davis and Andy Sonnanstine, who may be heading to the bullpen.
Some other things to watch will be Hank Blalock getting another start at first, as he's making a strong impression for the Rays to consider him for their roster.
C Dioner Navarro is walking around without crutches, so he's making progress on the bruised nerve on his left shin.
Here is the lineup posted this morning:
