Gameday report: Rays vs. Phillies vs. rain

UPDATE, 8:50: Today's game is canceled due to rain.

UPDATE, 8:32: Both C Dioner Navarro and OF Matt Joyce said they considered the diagnosis of their injuries to be good news and hope to be out only a few days. ... The players are now in the annual MLB security meeting and will be for at least the next half hour. By then, there may be a decision on whether to cancel the game.

UPDATE, 8:08: It sounds like there won't be a decision on the game for a while yet. If they do play here is the lineup posted in the Rays clubhouse this morning:
Rodriguez, cf
Upton, dh
Longoria, 3b
Pena, 1b
Shoppach, c
Kapler, rf
Ruggiano, lf
Brignac, ss
E. Johnson, 2b
Shields, p

DEVELOPING: If you were planning to head down to Port Charlotte today for the Rays-Phillies game, hang on for a while. There's been nothing official from the Rays, but there's already a sense the game is going to be called off. The field took a lot of rain overnight, it's still raining right now (7:45 a.m.) and there looks to be another band of heavy showers coming.

Updates as they happen, or at least as soon as we can post them.
