Gameday report: Rays vs. Twins

20

March

UPDATE, 12:20: Maddon reconfirmed that their best case scenario is to get Howell back in early May, how big of a loss it is, and that they will look to replace him in a number of ways, most likely with others, such as Dan Wheeler, Grant Balfour and Lance Cormier having to step up. They will also look at extrernal options. He also said they likely will look at the competition for the fifth starter's spot differntly now, which probably means Wade Davis is more likely to be in the rotation and Andy Sonnanstine in the pen - though Maddon said it could end up the other way.

UPDATE, 10:25: LHP J.P. Howell's injury and projected one-month absence is the prime topic of conversation this morning; Howell isn't expected here at Charlotte Sports Park until this afternoon so we'll talk to him then.
