Manager Joe Maddon made a point to say Tuesday he still has faith in struggling relievers Ruddy Lugo and Shawn Camp. But he also said he is more willing to try others in their late-inning roles, and the next two to get their chances are likely to be Gary Glover and Jae Kuk Ryu.
Meanwhile, there are rumors circulating about possible interest in struggling Houston closer Brad Lidge, who lost his job to Dan Wheeler. Early word out of Houston, courtesy of Jesus Ortiz of the Chronicle, is that GM Tim Purpura is not looking to make a deal right now.
Maddon also said he would keep Elijah Dukes in the DH role for now, which means there won't be much playing time for Jonny Gomes.
