Hickey: "Zero concern" of Moore tipping pitches

After reviewing video of Matt Moore's Sunday game, Rays pitching coach Jim Hickey said he has "zero concern" that Moore was tipping his pitches.

The issue was raised during the game, as the Sox were taking aggresive swings at Moore's pitches, and catcher Chris Gimenez said Hickey gathered themn during the fifth inning to discuss. And manager Joe Maddon fueled the speculation with his open-ended post-game comments that based on how hot the Boston hitters were "it's like they know what's coming almost."

But Moore said he didn't think it was an issue, and Hickey it definitely was not. Apart from Kevin Youkilis hitting a change-up in the second inning, the rest of the Red Sox hits came on badly located fastballs.

"My level of concern had nothing to do with anything except misplaced fastballs,'' Hickey said.

And as for Maddon's concern that the Sox were "on everything,'' Hickey said if they were they would have had more hits. "There were some pretty good swings at some misplaced fastballs,'' he said.
