Jennings has Rays first 3-homer spring game

UPDATE, 3:53: Jennings is the first player in Rays franchise history to hit three homers in a spring game, and the first player in the majors to do so since 2009, when Craig Monroe did so for Pittsburgh against the Twins. The Rays won 8-5.

BREAKING:  Rays CF Desmond Jennings has had quite a day in Sarasota today, with three home runs in his last three at-bats.

Jennings hit a solo homer in the third, a grand slam in the fourth and another solo homer in the seventh.

The Rays also got a solid four-inning outing from James Shields, who tuned up for Friday's opening day start.
