J.P. Howell's wife presents children's book today at Times Festival

What started with Rays reliever J.P. Howell buying a silly spur-of-the-moment gift for his wife - a stuffed monkey with angel wings – has turned into a children’s book Heather Hennessy-Howell has written and will promote from 10-4 at today’s Times Festival of Reading, on the USF-St. Petersburg campus, 140 Seventh Ave. South.
The illustrated book - The Adventures of Dangles – is the first of what is planned to be a series aimed at encouraging children (ages 3-10) to “make smart choices,” and features the Howells and Dangles.
“Kids can really identify with Dangles,’’ she said.
The Howells are also involved in several other efforts; for details see

Howell continues his rehab from shoulder surgery in Birmingham, Ala., and expects to rejoin the bullpen early next season.
