Legend of Sam Fuld continues to grow

Sam Fuld has has been the center of attention all day today.

The follow-up to his smashing Fenway Park debut has included hundreds of text messages, emails and Facebook postings; a series of media interviews, including ESPN's First Take; a pre-scheduled appearance at the BoSox Club luncheon; and being miked up by the MLB Network during batting practice.

And then there is Twitter, which is blowing up with a series of one-line jokes, a la Chuck Norris and Tim Tebow, under the heading #legendofsamfuld.

Manager Joe Maddon said his goal is for Fuld to become the World's Most Interesting Outfielder, playing off the Dos Equis beer commercials, and teammate David Price bestowed his own nickname, Green Eggs and Sam.

Also, Fuld's four extra-base hits and 11 total bases were the most for any player in his Fenway Park debut, he is the first New Hampshire born player to homer at Fenway since Phil Plantier on Oct. 3, 1992, and fourth overall. (Also, Kevin Romine and Red Rolfe). The four extra-base hits tied the Rays franchise record.

Among some of the more entertaining Twitter posts:
