Live from Disney ...
There are some Devil Rays in the dugout and some Rangers on the field getting ready for early batting practice, but otherwise it's pretty quiet here at The Ballpark at Disney's Wide World of Sports at around 2:30. There is a temporary electronic sign on Victory Way (the road that leads to the stadium) and a few small indicators as you get closer, but there is not much visible - yet anyway - that makes it seem like a special event, which the Rays certainly hope it is as they open a three-game series tonight with Texas.
The Disney crew worked hard over the weekend, hanging all kinds of new signage to the ballpark, replacing those of their own sponsors with those of the Rays, such as Tropicana, Checkers, Bud and Kane's - though no sign of the furniture showcase.
