UPDATE, 11:11: Maddon said Moore is likely to get back on the mound Sunday or Monday and could need only two bullpens and one batting practice before getting in a game, possibly by next weekend. ... Longoria is slated to play Monday. .... Luke Scott is scheduled for his first game action by the middle to end of next week.
BREAKING: The Rays had to navigate some morning fog for an early and abbreviated Friday workout before heading off to the team charity golf tournament in Bradenton.
* LHP Matt Moore said he no longer feels any discomfort from his lower abdominal strain, but will again be limited to playing catch, and there was no date set for him to return to the mound. He last threw off the mound a week ago. The Rays have said he could resume throwing early next week, and will need at least two bullpen sessions and a couple of batting practice sessions before his first game action.
* 3B Evan Longoria said his brusied right hand felt better and he would be able to play as soon as the swelling went down, anticipating no more than a few days.
* An early lineup for Saturday's exhibition opener vs. the Twins in Fort Myers was posted and it looks like this:
* 1B Carlos Pena said he felt fine and was a little surprised to hear manager Joe Maddon say he probably wouldn't play in exhibitions until the middle of next week. Pena said he had hoped to play Sunday. Sam Fuld, who had wrist issues at the end of last season, said he expects to play by the middle of next week.
