Live from Port Charlotte: Intrasquad game day

Update 9:08 a.m. LHP Matt Moore said he'll be limited today to playing catch from 100 feet, and just play it "day-by-day."

Moore said he was encouraged to be pain-free while throwing yesterday, and doesn't feel like he'll fall behind.

"We have four weeks of camp left," Moore said. "We have plenty of time."

Developing: The Rays, getting closer to their exhibition opener, will hold a shorter workout this morning before having an intrasquad game at 11 a.m. (which is not open to the public).

Most of the regulars will participate in the four-inning game, with the concept for pitchers to get the chance to face live hitters in a more game-like setting, and for them to work on both offensive and defensive plays.

LH Cesar Ramos and RH Josh Lueke are scheduled to start, with RHP Alex Cobb, LH Alex Torres and RHP Matt Bush among others slated to throw.

The Rays will hold their Charity Golf Classic on Friday before starting their spring training schedule Saturday against the Twins in Fort Myers.
