Live from Port Charlotte - the warmup

UPDATE, 2:13: Manager Joe Maddon checked in today, raving about the facility and talking about how excited he is to get started again after last season's success and his hectic off-season. He also offered some thoughts on the A-Rod steroids situation, essentially that he had no suspicisions that Rodriguez was using when he was with the Rangers, and also that it's not fair that he is being singled out. Maddon met with new quality assurance coach Todd Greene and, wearing a Gators national football championship shirt, went off for a bike ride into a stiff wind.

Senior adviser Don Zimmer, who suffered a slight stroke during the off-season, also arrived at camp today, accompanied by his wife Soot.

LHP David Price, RHP Matt Garza and RHP Andy Sonnanstine are among a group of about 20 players going through a casual workout in advance of Sunday's official camp opening.
Though there are plenty of boxes being unloaded and unpacked and a few finishing touches being made, the new complex is essentially ready, and looks great.
