C Jose Lobaton sprained his left knee in his first start for the Rays and ended up on the DL. Robinson Chirinos is being called up.

Lobaton said he hurt his knee in the ninth inning while trying to block a ball in the dirt, and then "felt something crack." Though he said the ligament sprain is not considered serious, it was disappointing he landed on the DL after just one start.

"I feel sad," he said.

Chirinos, who impressed in spring training after getting acquired by the Cubs in the RHP Matt Garza trade, will get his first big-league call-up.
