Longoria diagnosis: partial hamstring tear, out 6-8 weeks

The Rays made official what we reported earlier, that 3B Evan Longoria is likely to be out 6-8 weeks with a partial tear of his left hamstring.

The Rays say in a best-scenario Longoria could be recovered in four weeks and then would need a couple weeks to work back into shape to play in the majors.

Longoria's take: "I think it sucks.''
