A look at the Hellickson bobblehead, more on "the legend," and Bautista's greatness

A couple of notes that didn't make the web editions:

Promotion of the day

The I-Cubs will honor one of their own, with a Jeremy Hellickson bobblehead giveaway June 22. He is in his Hoover High jersey. PR director Randy Wehofer said the team has designed several promotions around native Iowans, and with Hellickson's success last year, "this was an easy conclusion to come to."

Sign of respect of the day

Consider it the latest measure of how big OF Sam Fuld has become – Jays fans were chanting his name, followed by a certain verb. “I took it as a compliment, indirectly,’’ Fuld said. “I was laughing out there. At least they know my name.’’ Not as funny was when some of the Friday night fans started chanting his wife’s name. “I’d prefer they keep the family out of it,’’ Fuld said.

Jose Bautista homage of the day

“I honestly felt like playing him in the bullpen, like having them open up the gates there, that I’d have a better chance of catching the balls than in regular left field.’’

- Rays LF Sam Fuld, on Bautista, who is 6-for-6, with 3 HRs, and 3 walks.

“He’s very reminiscent of Barry Bonds in 2002, World Series … where every time he swings the bat it looks like it’s going to go over the wall.’’

- Rays manager Joe Maddon
