Maddon ejected for between-innings argument
While the TV cameras were on commercial and the players were changing sides, Rays manager Joe Maddon was ejected for vehemently arguing a call at second base, where Evan Longoria was called out for coming off the base after a steal attempt.
Longoria was upset at the call and made a few comments to umpire Angel Campos and exaggerated gestures, then headed off the field. Maddon though came charging out and argued demonstratively with Campos.
It was the fourth time this season Maddon has been ejected, and his 15th overall with the Rays, matching original manager Larry Rothschild's franchise record. Six of Maddon's 15 ejections have come against his former team, the Angels.
