Maddon splits up regulars for Wednesday-Thursday games

Manager Joe Maddon released the schedule for which regulars will be playing in the first two exhibition games.

On Wednesday in Sarasota against the Orioles, Dioner Navarro, Ben Zobrist, Jason Bartlett, B.J. Upton and Kelly Shoppach (DH) will play.

And on Thursday, the Rays home opener at Charlotte Sports Park, Shoppach will catch, with Carlos Pena, Evan Longoria, Carl Crawford, Gabe Kapler and Pat Burrell getting to play.

Maddon said Reid Brignac will play second on Thursday, with Sean Rodriguez at short. With the Rays knowing what Brignac can do at short, they'll use Rodriguez more there next week to get a better look at him.
