Rays manager Joe Maddon said he talked today with executive VP Andrew Friedman and there wasn't anything brewing as far as possible trades. "Nothing's going on,'' he said.

Most of the speculation has involved CF B.J. Upton, most recently with the possibility that whatever team does not get Hunter Pence from Houston (Phillies or Braves) could come hard for Upton. Upton, though, said, as he has for the last few days, that he does not expect to be dealt. "I don't think it's going to happen,'' he said.
