Moore wins International League honor



Top prospect Matt Moore has made quite a debut since his promotion from Double-A Montgomery to Triple-A Durham, and Monday he was named pitcher of the week by the International League.

Moore, 22, won both of his starts, striking out 19 hitters in 11 2/3 innings. He threw five shutout innings on Tuesday in Charlotte, allowing three hits and striking out nine. Sunday he allowed two runs while striking out 10 in 6 2/3 innings.

In four games at Triple-A, Moore is is 3-0 with a 1.09 ERA, allowing 14 hits while striking out 39.
