Navarro hurt; Kazmir sharper
* The Rays may have sustained their first setback of the spring when starting C Dioner Navarro pulled up trying to score in the seventh inning. Navarro left the game and the Rays announced the injury as "a mild strain" of his left hamstring.
LHP Scott Kazmir's second start of the spring went better Thursday, as he pitched three innings against the Pirates in Bradenton, giving up three hits and two walks. Kazmir had a rough second inning, allowing all three hits and a walk.
Not much news from manager Joe Maddon's pre-game media session:
LHP Casey Fossum looked good again in batting practice and could make his first game appearance on Monday.
LHP Jon Switzer will only be out a few days after being on the right hand by a batted ball on Wednesday. All tests and x-rays were negative.
The Rays will use most of their regulars in Friday night's soldout game against the Yankees in Tampa.
