Navarro injures left leg, shouldn't miss Opening Day
UPDATE, 5:09: Navarro has only a bruised nerve in his left leg and is not likely to miss much time. "It's very positive news,'' exec VP Andrew Friedman said. "It should not interfere with Opening Day.''
UPDATE, 2:51: Navarro has been taken from the stadium for X-rays of his left leg, no word yet from team on injury.
UPDATE, 2:06: Navarro is being taken off the field on a cart, his left leg immobilized. It certainly appears to be serious based on how much pain Navarro was in and how the Rays staff was consoling him. Navarro had just returned to action Tuesday after missing a few days with a left thumb bruise.
DEVELOPING: C Dioner Navarro is down after a collision at home plate with Minnesota's Jacque Jones and appears to be in considerable pain. It appears to be an injury to his left leg and a cart has been summoned.
