New jersey officially unveiled
Since the images were posted on mlb.com last week there was nothing unexpected, but the Rays today officially released details of their new sky blue alternate jersey, which will be worn for Sunday home games.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL—The Tampa Bay Rays will wear a new light blue alternate jersey for Sunday home games during the 2010 season. Officially released today, it will debut on Sunday, April 11 when the Rays host the New York Yankees at Tropicana Field.
Starting today, fans may order the Rays new alternate jersey via raysbaseball.com and raysbeisbol.com, at the Rays Pro Shop and Ticket Outlet located at 400 N. Tampa St., the Rays Team Store at Tropicana Field and at Champs Sports Stores. Fans may also purchase the new jersey at the Rays 2010 Fan Fest this Saturday at Tropicana Field.
Rays players James Shields, Wade Davis, Jeff Niemann and Kelly Shoppach will visit two area Champs Sports Stores tonight to introduce the Rays new look.
Tonight’s appearance schedule:
James Shields and Wade Davis 7–8 p.m. Champs Sports Store, International Plaza, Tampa
Jeff Niemann and Kelly Shoppach 7–8 p.m. Champs Sports Store, Tyrone Mall, St. Petersburg
The Rays become one of 16 teams with four jerseys. In addition to the traditional home whites and road grays, the Rays will continue to wear a navy blue alternate on selected home and road day games.
Manufactured by Majestic Athletic, the new alternate jersey is a Columbia blue button-down with navy blue RAYS outlined in white trim across the chest and featuring the Rays sunburst. The sunburst is slightly larger than the sunburst on the home and road jerseys. Navy trim surrounds the sleeves and collar and extends down the front of the jersey. The player’s name is featured on the back in white outlined in navy. The player’s number is navy outlined in white.
