No roster decisions until Wednesday; Soriano misses workout

UPDATE, 7:35: A little more info - the Rays say Soriano went home for a "personal matter" and is returning tonight via private jet.

UPDATE, 7:08: The Rays have now said they won't release the roster until Wednesday morning. Also, closer RHP Rafael Soriano missed Tuesday's workout with permission to return to the Dominican Republic. The Rays say he will be back for Wednesday's game.

DEVELOPING: Rays officials are having yet another meeting to discuss the makeup of their 25-man roster, and may go up until Wednesday's 10 a.m. deadline to make it official, and public.

Manager Joe Maddon said they were down to four players for the final two spots. He wouldn't say any more, but it is believed their discussions have included whether to keep Rocco Baldelli or Willy Aybar as a righthanded bat, and carrying Dioner Navarro as a third catcher  or Desmond Jennings as a pinch-runner.

They also had to pick the final members of the bullpen.

Maddon also declined to reveal his lineup, in part because of who may or not be on the roster, but also because he's "doing something a little bit different.''
