Officer readies for game
Officer Chuck Tatem of the St. Petersburg Police doesn't know what to expect tonight. He checks bags and watches the holding area, where security and police put disorderly fans.
The last time the Red Sox were in town, Tropicana Field security ejected about 35 people. Police arrested five and gave four notices to appear, mostly on charges of disorderly conduct.
But this is the first of playoffs that will determine who goes to the World Series. The stakes are higher, and it's a weekend game, which usually means more out-of-town fans.
"I don't know how it's going to be here," Tatem said. It's all the dynamics of how the teams are."
