For openers, Rays at Twins, 7-3 loss
UPDATE, 4:17: The Rays lost their opener 7-3, though the game was decided after most of the regulars were out. Maddon said he was pleased overall, and singled out SS Tim Beckham for a great defensive play along with several of the pitchers.
UPDATE, 3:00: Price summed up his outing in one word, "Healthy." He said he was pleased with his work, though not happy that he hit Carroll. "It was a good day,'' he said. "It felt good. ... I'm happy this is over with.'' ... Price said he was pleased with slider in terms of break. ... He said it was "scary" to hit Carroll and he was glad he seemed okay. ... Upton said he felt very comfortable at the plate. "I think for where we're at in spring training right now I'm definitely in the right place,'' he said. "The key is keeping it where it's at right now and trying to make it a little bit better.'' ... Reliever Dane De La Rosa struck out the side in his inning, around a double.
UPDATE, 2:51: Score is tied 2-2 after 5, Twins scoring off Jhonny Nunez in the third and with three singles off prospect Alex Colome in the fifth.
UPDATE, 1:36: Price is done after his 1 inning as planned, throwing 26 pitches, with just the hit batter marring his work. Chris Archer is in.
UPDATE, 1:30: The Rays took a 1-0 lead in the first when B.J. Upton doubled to left and Matt Joyce homered to right center off Carl Pavano. David Price posted a zero in his inning, getting Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau both looking at strike three though also hitting Jamey Carroll in the head.

UPDATE, 11:32: Maddon said he expects 1B Carlos Pena to make his exhibition debut Tuesday or Wednesday, and that DH Luke Scott and OF Sam Fuld will play by the end of the week. Scott is coming off shoulder surgery, with Pena and Fuld (who had wrist issues at the end of the season), the Rays are just taking it slow.
