Playing in pinstripes not on Carl Crawford's mind
Carl Crawford knew it was coming. The Rays All-Star leftfielder, who will be one of the most coveted free agents in the offseason, was surrounded by more than a dozen New York writers Wednesday in the visiting clubhouse at Yankee Stadium.
As usual, Crawford was asked if he thought about free agency - and potentially playing in New York. And, as usual, he gave his typical response.
"I don't think about it at all," he said. "Everyone knows, when you're winning, it lets you be carefree all the time, where you don't have to think about that stuff too much. When you're in a situation like this, it's easy to get on with your day."
On if he thinks about playing in New York?
"It's something I don't have to think about right now," he said. "I have plenty of time to think about that stuff (later)."
