Price a finalist for Players Choice award

LHP David Price is one of three finalists for AL Most Outstanding Pitcher honors in the Players Choice awards, which will be announced tonight, from 8-9 on MLB Network.

Price, Chicago's Chris Sale and Los Angeles' Jered Weaver were the three top vote-getters in the mid-September polling of players. Notably absent from that group is Detroit's Justin Verlander, whom many view as Price's main competition for the AL Cy Young Award, which will be announced Nov. 14.

Price, who won the players' award in 2010, is the only Ray among the finalists. Though RHP Fernando Rodney won the AL Comeback Player of the Year award chosen by writers, he was not among the top three choices of the players, who voted in Los Angeles' Kendry Morales and Chicago's Adam Dunn and Alex Rios.
