Price "fine," expected to make next start

UPDATE, 7:51: Here is what Price had to say, relayed by the Rays:

"I'm just glad it didn't hit me in the head and that we have a third baseman who could turn it into an out. I didn't want to come out, but that was the decision that was made and I respect Ron Porterfield and the job he does. At the end of the day it turned out great. I'm fine and the bullpen guys did a great job.  I was watching on my phone while I was laying in bed at the hospital. McGee was great."
DEVELOPING: LHP David Price was taken to Mass General Hospital for a series of tests after being struck on the right side of the chest by a ball, but is "fine" according to manager Joe Maddon and is expected to make his next start.

Price was not available for comment as he did not return to Fenway Park, the team spokesman Rick Vaughn saying Price would meet then at the train station for the trip to New York.

Maddon said the play was scary when it happened and he was reluctant to let Price stay in, then made the call to take him out when he "stiffened up." Maddon also said Price had a nasty bruise from the ball

With the Rays off Monday and playing a doubleheader Wednesday, Price's next start would be scheduled for either Friday or Saturday.
