Price set to start Friday
LHP David Price said his bullpen session went very well, and he is set to start Friday in New York.
"I felt good today,'' Price said. "I felt very good. It was a a good step forward today. We should be good to go.''
Price skipped his Saturday start due to what was described as "general soreness" in his shoulder. He said the Rays still don't know the cause, but is confident whatever it was, "I feel like it's gone now.''
Price admitted to some trepidation before heading out for the bulllpen session, where he threw 30-35 pitches to Stephen Vogt, using all of his repertoire.
"It's been on my mind quite a bit the last week and a half,'' he said. "It's something I've never been through and it's something I really hope I never have to go through again. It feels good now, but it's something, I didn't know how it was going to respond, I didn't know how it was going to feel throwing a bullpen, I didn't know if it was going to bounce back. I've never been through this process before. It's something I was definitely a little bit scared about.''
