Rain delay in Bronx; resumption at 10:05



UPDATE, 10:11: Game resumed after a delay of 2:11. Now RHP Dustin Moseley is warming for the Yankees, but Ring will start.

UPDATE, 10:00: Hellickson will be on mound as play resumes, with Rays leading 1-0 in the third. LHP Royce Ring will pitch for Yankees.

UPDATE, 9:54: The Yankees announced a 10:05 re-start time.

UPDATE, 9:40: The grounds crew is coming out to remove the tarp, no start time yet though.

UPDATE, 9:26: The field is still covered, so it's not going to be 9:30. Now there is chatter about a 9:45 restart.

UPDATE, 9:04: When they do resume play, starter Wade Davis is unlikely to continue given the length of the delay, so expect to see rookie RHP Jeremy Hellickson.

UPDATE, 8:59:
Unofficial word is that the game could resume around 9:30.

UPDATE, 8:31: Yankee Stadium PA man Paul Olden - the former Rays radio broadcaster - just announced that the delay is likely to last a while as they wait for the bad weather to move entirely out of the area, and also warned fans about the potential for lightning strikes and told them to take cover.

DEVELOPING: The game has been stopped in the bottom of third, with the Rays leading 1-0, as rain and brisk winds moved quickly into the area, and turned heavy.
