The Rays officially activated OF Sam Fuld from the disabled list, and he will make his season debut tonight starting in left against the Orioles. Fuld, out since right wrist surgery the last week of spring training, is expected to serve as the Rays fourth outfielder/pinch-hitter. To make room on the 40-man roster, 3B Evan Longoria (partially torn left hamstring) was transferred to the 60-day DL. Fuld said he was excited to be back, that he was pleased he beat the initial timetable. He says the wrist is no longer an issue, and could play everyday if need be.
