Rays announce Maddon's 3-year extension
Joe Maddon has said repeatedly he doesn't want to manage anywhere else but Tampa Bay.
And he showed that commitment in agreeing to a three-year contract extension, announced this morning at Tropicana Field, that would keep him in the Rays dugout through 2015.
For the three years, Maddon will be paid about $6-million, considerably less than he likely could have gotten had he become a free agent when
his current deal would have expired at the end of this season.
