Rays lose 9-5, fall 3 back of Yankees

The Rays lost another game they should have won Sunday, 9-5 to the Yankees.

New York starter Andy Pettitte left with injury in the third inning, but the Rays couldn't take advantage despite having ace David Price on the mound.

The Rays lost two of three to the Yankees over the weekend, falling to 55-36 overall and a season-high matching three games out of first place.

About the only bright spot for the Rays was Carlos Pena's three-run homer in the first inning, his 20th of the season.
