Rays at Orioles, a half hour late
UPDATE, 7:33: After a delay of 28 minutes, first pitch at 7:33 with the temperature still a toasty 90.
UPDATE, 7:11: First pitch now set for 7:28.
UPDATE, 7:09: Grounds crew is removing the tarp after a light shower, and starting pitchers are headed to the bullpens. Probably 20-30 minutes until game starts.
UPDATE, 7:04: Well, they were right as it is raining lightly, and the start of the game will be delayed. No estimate yet on how long.
UPDATE, 6:47: Here's a twist - tarp just went on the field, even though skies are relatively clear. Must be a storm coming from somewhere fast.
DEVELOPING: It is hot here in Baltimore too as the Rays get ready to face the Orioles, with a 6 p.m. temperature of 93 degrees and a feels-like of 98.
Carl Crawford will be back in leftfield tonight, and for the next two games in Baltimore. Manager Joe Maddon said he's check with Crawford after Thursday's off-day about the weekend series in Cleveland.
