Rays pitchers put on a "show" in BP
Price draws a "MOM" in a heart on Hellickson.
The Rays starting pitchers took their first batting practice on the field today, and of course took it seriously, with new batting gloves, wrist bands and guards and bats. Jeff Niemann even wore eye black.
David Price was the star, of course, trotting around the bases after a couple of his four home runs. Matt Moore showed more power though, hitting five out.
But accoding to coach Jim Hickey, the real star was Jeremy Helllickson - who, like Moore, took BP with the sleeves cut off their T-shirts.
"He's the gold standard as far as handling the bat and hitting,'' Hickey said. "He's head and shoulders above the rest. And look at his muscles.''
