Rays-Red Sox lined up, including Baldelli

UPDATE, 6:37: Rays manager Joe Maddon said Baldelli will always have a place in his heart, and he will be rooting for him except when the Sox are playing the Rays.

"Of course I want to see him do well, but not tonight,'' Maddon said. “I’d like to see him go 0-fo-r4, 0-for-5 and have his mother call and try to console him a bit. Otherwise I’m looking for him to do really well.''

UPDATE, 4:50: Ex-Ray Rocco Baldelli is in the Boston lineup, batting fifth and playing rightfield.

"I've been looking forward to playing my first game of the season all winter, so I think it will be fun," Baldelli said.

As for playing against the Rays? "Well, I started out my career playing for the Rays against the Red Sox, so in a way it's kind of fitting, I guess."
